Aspergillosis   Links

Individuals exposed to decaying vegetation, primarily in agriculture, have a high risk of breathing the spores of the fungus, Aspergillus. Asthma and rhinitis due to allergy are common, but individuals with predisposing risk factors (like chronic pulmonary disease, bronchial cancer or impaired ciliary action) can develop a progressive infection. Aspergillus is a fungus that produces large quantities of oxalic acid; thus, during aspergillosis the levels of oxalic acid in the body can increase dramatically.
