Alachua, Fla.-based Ixion is the world's leader in developing diagnostic and prevention options for oxalate-related disorders, such as kidney stones, primary hyperoxaluria, Crohn's Disease, and cystic fibrosis. Ixion also is developing cell therapy products to treat diabetes.

"We are very pleased to have Jon Heimer join us from our parent company, Q-Med. His experience in product development, project management, and quality systems will significantly strengthen the depth and expertise of our management team as the Company faces the important new challenges of moving our initial products from research, through clinical trials, and into the marketplace. We are especially happy that he will be here as we commence our initial clinical trial for IxOC-2, our oxalate control product, scheduled for early spring," said Weaver Gaines, Ixion chairman and CEO.
